Why enjoy
it ... !

At the start of the 16th century, 8 ponds are mentioned in the property of the Châtrices Abbey founded around 1142 by Eustache. Thanks to fishing, the pond fish were put in tanks for the clerics, then sold locally or sent to Châlons and Reims.

The Abbey was destroyed in 1792. In 1990, the ponds at Châtrices became state-owned. Managed by the National Forests Office, these ponds, with a surface area of 57 hectares, are home to year-round fisheries. The fish, which are raised in pure water rich in natural nutrients, are sold.
