A DAY OF CYCLING BETWEEN POUILLON AND THE ST THIERRY MASSIF WITH THE GUINARD FAMILY – #1

FAMILY PORTRAIT
Today, we follow Emmanuelle and Laurent Guinard, and their 2 children, Jules, 18 and Romane, 16. Our sporty family lives in the countryside, where they enjoy a simple life. Everyone enjoys their favorite hobbies with a smile: arts and crafts, music or cycling, Jules’ great passion!
Program for the day
- 9:30 am: Bike ride with Les Escapades d’Eugène
- 1pm: Picnic at Champagne Cuillier
- 3pm: Visit to the cellars and vineyards of Champagne Cuillier
For their first day, the Guinard family, joined by Vilma, a Finnish correspondent, began their tour with a bike ride from Saint-Brice-Courcelles. Jérôme, founder of Escapades d’Eugène, was waiting for them with 3 electric bikes, while Laurent and Jules had planned to ride their own bikes. On the program: around 40 km of riding on roads, greenways or in the woods!
” Jérôme adapted the route for each person according to the constraints of the day. You can tell he’s used to it, he really listens “, Emmanuelle points out. ” We appreciated the variety of the circuit, with some very pleasant stretches along the canal, and others via some really nice little villages we didn’t know “.
En début d’après-midi, la famille a poursuivi sa visite sur place, en partant à la découverte du Champagne Cuillier.
« Paulina, notre hôte, nous a emmenés sur une parcelle de Pinot Meunier où ils pratiquent l’agroforesterie, une démarche environnementale par la plantation d’arbres. On ne connaissait pas du tout, c’était très intéressant. Vilma était enchantée de découvrir la Champagne en immersion, d’autant plus que Paulina s’est adaptée en traduisant les explications pour elle en anglais ».
La visite s’est terminée par une dégustation des différentes cuvées de la maison. Mention spéciale pour la cuvée Grande Réserve extra-brut, très appréciée avec son faible dosage en sucre !
The way back was through the woods (and in the rain), with some fun little singles* adapted to everyone’s abilities.
” For us, it’s not a problem to ride when it’s raining– it’s all part of the game! ” smiles Emmanuelle.

Malgré une météo printanière peu clémente, la famille a rejoint sans difficultés le Champagne Cuillier, à Pouillon, pour une pause déjeuner bien méritée. Le pique-nique fait partie de la rando vélo organisée par Les Escapades d’Eugène.
” A delicious meal for sports enthusiasts from Good Truck! On the menu: sandwiches, salad and dessert with oatmeal and almonds, not forgetting the glass of champagne. It was a real treat!

“We had a great time as a family, and we’re proud to have presented our territory to Vilma in this way. Everyone was delighted… and tired!
