Why enjoy
it ... !
The Church of Saint-Denis was built in the 16th century. It is in the Flamboyant Gothic style. It has a 42-metre high Renaissance tower.
Concealed within the very walls of the church are workrooms. Going right back to 1499, saddlers, tailors, coppersmiths, bakers, ironmongers, cobblers, notaries, silversmiths, locksmiths and glaziers occupied the 23 little niches built into the church’s buttresses. Four can still be seen in the buttresses of the tower.
