The Marne Valley cycle route

Along the Canal Latéral de la Marne, the V52 cycle route offers a landscape skilfully crafted by the hand of man, who has shaped the plots and hillsides.

Focus on the V 52 cycle route along the Canal Latéral à la Marne

The 92 km bike route winds its way through the Marne valley, between Champagne vineyards, the chalk valley, places of remembrance and pilgrimage, and landscapes and monuments listed as Unesco World Heritage sites.

The Cycle Route 52 follows the Marne and its lateral canal for over 90 km from Dormans to Vitry-le-François, via Epernay and Châlons-en-Champagne.

Offering breathtaking views of the Champagne hillsides listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, flirting with the Montagne de Reims nature park, linking places steeped in history, retracing the footsteps of pilgrims and revealing the remains of chalk mining, the V 52 allows you to discover the wealth of landscapes and heritage that make up the unique world of the Marne valley.

Along the way, don’t hesitate to explore the attractions of the neighboring villages, or take a break at one of the many picnic areas.

The Véloroute de la Vallée de la Marne is located on the national route n°52 Paris-Strasbourg.

ANI ‘ MARNE

Ani’Marne is a graphic and literary journey along two Marne bicycle routes, featuring a native Marne author, Camille Brunel, who is passionate about the animalist cause, and a well-known Marne illustrator, Emilie Vast, whose work constantly recounts the lives of animals and plants.

On the geographical boundary between nature – water that runs – and culture – water that is often channeled – you’ll discover sometimes a squirrel, sometimes a group of ants, here a deer, there a frog, a crane a stone’s throw from Lac du Der, a lizard on the retaining wall of an old SNCF bridge. Accompanying each of these works is a quotation by Camille Brunel, and a QR code for discovering an out-of-time text online, in French or English, to read or listen to, a poem that tells all about an encounter: that between a walker – a traveler – and an animal figure from the Marne bestiary.
