The Marne, winner of the Trophée National du Département Fleuri since 1997, has 120 communes with labels ranging from 1 to 4 Fleurs, including 11 “4 Fleurs” communes. These places have become must-sees for connoisseurs, and serve as ambassadors for the region.
If the beauty of the hillsides, the richness of the heritage or the expanse of the lakes reflect a geography of happiness, it is also experienced on a daily basis in the towns and villages in bloom.
Here, remarkable trees, multicolored flowers and original plants invade exceptional residences, champagne houses, forests and plains… to delight the eyes and the senses! Enthusiasts open their gardens to you, villages can be discovered on a flowery stroll and parks come alive with the seasons, inviting you to take a stroll.

Nature without artifice
Located between Reims and Epernay, the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park is a veritable showcase for animal and plant species, as well as traditional architecture (Romanesque churches, calvaries, washhouses).
Nearly 300 kilometers of signposted footpaths and numerous cycling and horse-riding trails, as well as geological discovery trails, are available for visitors’ enjoyment.
The Park is full of treasures: the wild orchids of Champagne and the Faux de Verzy are proof of this. These twisted beech trees with their gnarled, misshapen trunks remain an enigma for scientists and a constant source of amazement for walkers…
With over 800 forgeries, some of which are three hundred years old, it is the world’s leading reserve of forgeries.

To help you understand the language of flowers, since 2010 the Marne’s towns and villages in bloom have been offering visitors who love flowers and beautiful landscapes the “Balades Fleuries®”.
A unique concept in France, these free, unguided themed tours are marked out like an easy hiking trail. Along the way, signs invite you to explore, admire and smell the flowers at your leisure. Along the way, you’ll discover the local heritage: churches, fountains, wash-houses… and come across other footpaths inviting you to continue your discovery.
