OUTDOOR ESCAPE GAME DAY IN REUVES AND VISIT TO SÉZANNE WITH THE BRISSON FAMILY – #2

Today, we’re following a curious, epicurean and happy family on their second day exploring the Marne! Noémie Brisson and her son Gaël, aged 10, form an intrepid duo. Gourmets at heart, they are also in love with their land, which they never tire of exploring. Gaël is passionate about history and has already visited several museums in the department. With them, it’s smiles and good humor every day!

Program for the day

  • 9:30 am: Arrival at Champagne VG Dupont in Reuves for an escape game in the vineyards
  • 12pm: Picnic lunch with the winemaker
  • 14h : Visite de Sézanne avec un greeter*

*The greeter (a concept imported from New York) is a local volunteer who shares his or her passion for the area with you during a stroll through the town or village.

Pour leur 2e journée ambassadeurs, Noémie Brisson et son fils Gaël ont pris la direction du village de Reuves, sur le circuit des Coteaux du Sézannais et du Petit-Morin. Une mission très spéciale les attendait au domaine du Champagne VG Dupont : un escape game au cœur du vignoble !

« Nous avons été accueillis dans un ancien corps de ferme absolument magnifique par Valérie Dupont. Elle nous a confié le point de départ du jeu qu’elle a imaginé elle-même : une lettre de l’arrière-grand-mère de son mari Gaël, écrite en 1988 ! », raconte Noémie. Sans plus attendre, le duo commence l’« Escape in the vines » : 1 coffre à trouver, 8 énigmes à résoudre et un message à délivrer ! Le parcours à pied et en voiture les mène vers différents points d’intérêt de Reuves, Mondement et Broyes. 

In 2 hours, the message was found! “Gaël took things in hand, and loved playing detective and getting to the bottom of the investigation! We took our time solving the riddles, and the game was really well thought out. We also enjoyed discovering these charming villages and taking in the breathtaking views of the vineyards. It was really fun, and suitable for the whole family!smiles Noémie.

Le ventre plein que la famille Brisson a repris la route pour Sézanne où Jacqueline, leur greeter, les attendait. Pendant 1h30, ils se sont laissés guider dans cette jolie petite ville fortifiée. « Nous avons arpenté les mails jusqu’à un beau point de vue. Puis Jacqueline nous a emmenés au Couvent des Récollets, avec sa magnifique chapelle et ses peintures de frère Luc. Grâce à ses connaissances en histoire de l’art, Jacqueline nous a offert une visite privilégiée de ce bijou d’architecture ! Nous avons aussi jeté un œil à l’église (très rapide car il y avait un mariage auquel nous n’étions pas invités !), fait un saut à l’ancien collège devenu médiathèque et un arrêt incontournable devant la maison dans laquelle Napoléon a séjourné la veille de la bataille de Champaubert… pour le plus grand plaisir de Gaël ! », souligne la jeune maman ». 

After the stroll, Noémie and Gaël settled down on the terrace of the old town square for a drink and to enjoy the summer atmosphere. ” Sézanne is a pretty corner of the Marne, with beautiful architecture, which deserves its label of Petite Cité de Caractère®!” confirms Noémie.

Vers midi, le duo a savouré un pique-nique bien mérité au domaine. Au menu ? Des spécialités locales comme les rillettes-mignonnettes d’un producteur charcutier d’Orbais-l’Abbaye, des chips champenoises ou encore des biscuits Fossier. « On a emporté les mirabelles en bocaux à la maison parce qu’on n’avait plus faim ! », partage Noémie.

“Valérie also introduced us to different cuvées from her champagne house. She told us about the commitment she is making with her husband to protect the environment and soon to produce organic champagne. It was very interesting!”

“It was a rich and intense day! We both loved the escape game, and we learned a lot about this lovely part of the region. We made some great discoveries that made us want to come back!
