It owes its name to a legend from the Middle Ages, when lumberjacks found a statuette of the Virgin Mary in the heart of the tree&#8230; This &#8220;miracle&#8221; is the subject of an annual pilgrimage on the 3rd Sunday in September.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the north-west, you can discover the No\u00eblle sector with its pleasant botanical trail, and enjoy a walk through six of the remarkable trees of the Montagne de Reims massif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New! They are commonly known as Faux de Verzy or Faux de Verzy beeches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 57-hectare Verzy Biological Reserve welcomes visitors to a site that is unique in the world, with over 800 individuals!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-group alignfull pattern-text has-global-padding is-content-justification-center is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-fdcf44e1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>Tourisme &amp; Handicap (Tourism &amp; Handicap)<\/strong> accredited trail allows walkers to discover these astonishing trees during a two-hour stroll through this protected area.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">You can also discover the site via the <strong>&#8220;En for\u00eat de Verzy&#8221;<\/strong> app, available free of charge on the AppStore and GooglePlay. Its 408-hectare state-owned forest, a veritable promontory overlooking the Champagne vineyards, plays a structuring role in the landscape that must be preserved and guaranteed over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Mainly made up of sessile oak (63%), it is located entirely within the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park.
